Lim Jin-hee (Angang Construction) became the inaugural champion of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour Sangsang-in and Korea Economic Daily Open (total prize money of 1.2 billion won, championship prize money of 216 million won). Angang Construction’s golf team achieved 4 wins this season.

Jinhee Lim made seven birdies and no bogeys in the final round of the tournament held at Lakewood Country Club (par 72/6,606 yards) in Yangju, Gyeonggi-do on the 22nd.

Lim Jin-hee, who recorded a final total of 13 under par 275 strokes, won a thrilling comeback victory by beating Lim Hee-jung (12 under par 276 strokes) by one stroke. She remained in a tie for 5th place, 4 strokes behind leader Lim Hee-jung, until the third round, but lifted the trophy with flawless play in the final round.

After the game, Jinhee Lim shared her joy with her team, saying, “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the executives and staff of Angang Construction who always show a lot of interest and support to the sponsored players.”

The Angang Construction Golf Club, in its second year of existence, won this tournament with Lim Jin-hee, making it the club with the second most wins (4 wins) this year, following KB Financial Group (5 wins). In particular, it has the most wins among construction companies that sponsor KLPGA tour players. An official from Angang Construction’s golf team said, “We will provide generous support to not only Lim Jin-hee but all golf team players to achieve their goals.”

Meanwhile, the 2023 season KLPGA tour now has only three competitions left. Attention is focused on whether the players from Angang Construction’s golf team will be able to continue their momentum in the remaining competitions.
