Chelsea scores 6 goals, beats Middlesbrough, advances to cup finals
Chelsea defeated Middlesbrough (second division) with strong firepower and scored six goals to advance to the Carabao Cup final.
Chelsea beat Middlesbrough 6-1 at home in the second leg of the 2023-24 EFL Cup semifinals at Stamford Bridge in London, England, on the 24th.
Chelsea, who previously lost 0-1 in the first leg, advanced to the final with a huge victory in the second leg. Chelsea will advance to the final of a major tournament for the first time since the team’s owner was replaced by Todd Bailey in May 2022.
Chelsea vie for the championship with Liverpool and Fulham.
Liverpool won 2-1 in the first leg of the semi-final to reach a somewhat advantageous position. The second leg of the semi-final will be held at home in Fulham on the 25th.
Chelsea won with a strong attack from the beginning.
Chelsea, who scored an own goal in the 15th minute of the first half, took a 3-0 lead with additional goals from Enzo Fernandez and Axel Disasi in the first half.
Chelsea, on momentum, effectively turned the game around in the 33rd minute when Palmer scored his team’s fourth goal with a multi-goal.
Chelsea celebrated their place in the finals with Noni Madueke’s sixth goal four minutes later. Middlesbrough, on the other hand, had to settle for getting out of the woods with Morgan Rogers’ goal in the 43rd minute.
