Gwangju University beat Suwon University to win its fourth game of the season.

Gwangju University won the 2024 KUSF College Basketball U-League match against Suwon University 73-67 at Gwangju National University Gymnasium on the 29th.

Yang Yoo-jung (28 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 8 steals), while Lim Won-won (14 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists) and Chung Chae-ryeon (11 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists) also contributed to the victory. Gwangju University ranked second with 4 wins and 1 loss.

Gwangju University took the lead from the beginning of the game. Yang Yu-jeong was at the center of it. Yang Yu-jeong put on a one-man show, scoring 14 points in the first quarter alone. Jung Chae-ryeon and Jo Woo scored in the second quarter. Although Kim Seo-yeon and Lee Dong-hyun conceded goals, Lim and Yang Yoo-jeong scored and the first half ended 37-31.

Gwangju University’s performance was stable in the second half. Yang Yoo-jeong continued her scoring streak, and YuB’s 3-pointer split the rim. Suwon caught up with Kim Seo-yeon and Lee Dong-hyun, but confronted them with goals from Lim Won-saeng and Jeong Chae-ryun. At the end of the third quarter, the score was 59-48, and Gwangju University was still holding the lead.

In the fourth quarter, Gwangju University allowed Suwon University to tie the game with consecutive outside shots, but it was not shaken. Following Yang Yoo-jung’s foul, Lim also succeeded in attacking. Afterwards, Yang Yoo-jung, who was leading the attack, left the court with five fouls, but Lim and Chung Chae-ryeon scored and secured the victory.

Meanwhile, Suwon had Kim Seo-yeon (24 points, four rebounds, two assists) showing remarkable performance, but was defeated by Gwangju University in the last minute of concentration battle. The loss brings the team’s record to two wins and two losses.
