Shohei Ohtani (LA Dodgers) got on base twice and improved his condition.

Ohtani took his first batter’s box at the bottom of the first inning with no outs and runners on the first base when the score was 0-0. Arizona right-handed starter Brandon Pat stepped down. However, the Dodgers gained momentum by scoring as many as seven runs in the first inning. Freddie Freeman’s first two-run shot and Chris Taylor’s grand slam came out.

Ohtani came back to bat in the first inning. He had a chance to lead 6-0 with runners on the first and third bases with two outs. He walked right-hander Alec Baker and walked to the first base. Gavin Luxe hit a fastball to make it 7-0. Therefore, it was not Ohtani’s RBI single. Later, Ohtani grounded out to left-hander Jose Castillo in the bottom of the fourth inning with no outs for a 7-0 lead.

Ohtani finally got a hit in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 9-1 lead. With no outs at first base, he hit an RBI double off left-hander Kyle Nelson.
